Guidelines
Text
The word limit for your abstract is 300 words. Exceeding the word limit will affect the abstract rating.
Abstracts should be written in proper academic English.
Only common abbreviations may be used without definition.
Abstract Attachment
The abstract must be submitted with an accompanying attachment that includes several key elements: the title of the abstract, a comprehensive list of all authors and co-authors along with their respective affiliations, and the main text of the manuscript. The permissible formats for this attachment are either .doc or .docx. Usage of the ETRS2024 Abstract Attachment Template is mandatory.
Title
The title should be a maximum of 20 words. Be sure that your title fits the content of your abstract. The title should be written in capital letters.
Abstract layout
Please structure your abstract with the following headings:
Background including aim/purpose, Methods, Results, and Discussion/conclusion.
If you don’t use this format, your abstract will be rejected.
- Background including aim/purpose: describe the background/rationale of your study and your objectives/research questions.
- Methods: describe the study design, population, data collection, and analysis.
- Results: describe the results of your study that fits your research questions/objectives.
If you submit an abstract about your research design, you can describe the expected results. - Discussion/conclusion: describe possible strengths and limitations of your study, the study impact and/or answer to your research question.
If you submit an abstract about your research design, you can describe the expected insights and knowledge as a result of your study.
Submission
Please make sure to have all fields completed before you finally submit your abstract. You will receive a confirmation by e-mail after the submission.
Changes are possible after submission until June 8th 2024.
Please note that e-mails regarding the submission will only be sent to the submitter.
Abstract Scoring
Abstracts will be subjected to a blind peer review by at least 3 reviewers. Authors will be notified by e-mail about acceptance of their abstract before July 1st 2024.
Note: All presenting authors have to register for the annual meeting.

Awards (age < 35 years)
With the aim of encouraging young investigators, European Tissue Repair Society (ETRS) awards oral presentations and poster prizes.
Young Investigator Prizes
- The first prize will be awarded to one individual judged as being the best oral presentation in the young investigator prize session. The awardee will be granted the possibility to present his/her work at the Wound Healing Society. WHS has agreed to pay for the registration, travel and accommodation costs of the best prize winner of ETRS, just like ETRS will pay for the best prize winner of WHS. The awardee is requested to closely interact in time with the business office to ensure minimal costs.
- Maximum two more prizes of 500 Euro will be awarded to young investigators ranked 2nd and 3rd in the oral presentation competition.
- Such awards shall be available to all young investigators submitting abstracts. Should an abstract be selected from an individual who is not a member of the ETRS then the membership fee for 1 year will be deducted from the prize.
- These awards are being paid by ETRS and not the Conference President. A balance between basic and clinical topics should be aimed at.
Poster Prizes
- A maximum of 3 prizes of 200 Euro will be awarded to the best posters presented at the meeting.
- This award is being paid by ETRS. A balance between basic and clinical topics should be aimed at.
